Kallar Kahar is a union council and subdivision of Chakwal District in Punjab, Pakistan.[1] It is a tourist destination located 25 kilometres southwest of Chakwal along the motorway. It is notable for its natural gardens, peacocks and a saltwater lake. It is 125 km away from Rawalpindi.

Bhaun is a town in Chakwal District in the Punjab province of Pakistan 12 kilometres away from the district capital Chakwal. In 2007 Pakistan Railways announced the resumption of the Bhaun to Chakwal service. However, no progress has been made to this effect as of February 2009. The importance of resumption of this service and extending it to salt range in Kallar Kahar area will bring significant commercial advantages for the region as the cement factories in the area can use rail for their merchandise.

CHAKWAL: In a tragic road accident,34 people including 29 students lost their lives while more than 50 were injured, Geo News reported Tuesday. The accident took place when a bus overturned near Kallar Kahar Chakwal on the motorway.
According to police, the crash took place near Salt Range due to a brake failure.The bus was carrying more than 100 students returning from an excursion and all the victims aged between 12 to 20, belonged to Millat Grammar School Faisalabad.
Heirs identified 33 dead bodies while one student could not be identified whose dead body has been handed over to Faisalabad Assistant Commissioner.
DCO Faisalabad while mourning the lives lost announced that schools and businesses in the city would remain closed on Tuesday.
So far 17 dead bodies have been sent to Faisalabad while 15 injured students are being treated at Allied Hospital.

Dhudial

Choa Saidan Shah


Located 33 kilometers south of Chakwal on the Chakwal-Khewra Road, Choa Saidan Shah is a small town placed in an idyllic bowl shaped valley, surrounded by lush green hills.

This attractive town, three kilometers from Ketas, is named after the saint Saidan Shah Shirazi and is nestled at the foot of a valley. Apparently the area was a desert until the holy man arrived, when he struck the ground with his staff and sweet water sprang up (‘Choa’ means ‘spring’). The saint’s shrine is set back from the main bazaar in a courtyard, and the annual urs is held in April The town is surrounded by trees and orchards, and is famous for its roses and perfumes.

Rape case ordered against PML-N MNA Ch. Ayaz Amir (Chakwal) and six others



Chakwal Additional District and Sessions Judge Asghar Khan ordered City Police on Tuesday to register a case against PML-N MNA Ayaz Amir and six others for sexual assault on a 15-year-old married girl, Tabasum Farooq.

According to the petition filed by her, she alleged that the Chakwal Police was reluctant to register a case against the MNA and the six ohers.Tabasum Farooq, thorough her lawyers, contended that the MNA and the six others sexually assaulted her at his residence.Haroon Irshad Janjua appeared on behalf of the MNA and said that the incident was stated to have occurred four months ago and that there was no medical report in favour of Tabasum Farooq and also that no one witnessed the incident.The judge, after hearing the arguments from both sides, ordered Station House Officer (SHO) City Police Station Chakwal to register a case against all the accused nominated in the application.

Three armymen killed, 24 passengers injured


in motorway accident

CHAKWAL: Three army personnel were killed and 24 passengers received multiple injuries in an accident on Lahore-Islamabad Motorway, near village Bhatti Gujjar on Wednesday. Motorway Head Constable Wazahat Hussain told the police that army truck-6572 overturned on motorway and it was being lifted by a crane when bus LXX-5500 coming from Lahore collided with the truck. As a result, armymen Naik Muhammad Naveed, crane operator Pervez and road cleaner Jabbar Ali were killed at the spot while Abdul Sattar received multiple injuries. After colliding with the truck, the bus fell into a ditch, injuring 24 passengers. The injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital. Police have registered a case.

ADMINISTRATION


The administrative hierarchy begins with Secretary School Education Department at the top and bifurcated into Secondary and Elementary wings headed by Directors Public Instruction Punjab respectively. The echelons lower to the district level where the Executive District Officer (Education) at the top having District Education Officer (SE), M-EE, W-EE as his aides. The Sub Divisional viz Tehsil administration consists of a Deputy District Education Officer (Male and Female). The District Education Officer (SE) is subordinated by two Deputy District Education Officers and two Assistant Education Officers where as the Primary and Elementary Schools are supervised by Assistant Education Officers who are 30 in number of both genders. Administrative jurisdiction of DEO (SE) comprises of monitoring, supervision and management of High Schools whereas the similar function in case of Boys Primary and Elementary Schools and Girls Primary and Elementary Schools is accomplished by the DEO (M-EE) and DEO (W-EE) respectively.

Overall control of all levels of schooling is exercised by the Executive District Officer (Education).
